The Samsung Note 3 and Galaxy Gear were a few days ago launched in Cape Town South Africa for the African market. For all the Samsung users the launch came with a few surprises that went beyond the new gadgets themselves.

Samsung announced that it would be able to replace mobile devices for customers should they be damaged within the first year of purchase. This replacement would not only be once. The phone users were allowed 4 drops or accidents. That is for the techie mothers and all those that multi-task.  George Ferreira, Vice President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Africa, speaking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 World Tour Africa in Cape Town, South Africa said the system, which is the first of its kind, is carefully planned to enable consumers enjoy the Galaxy device.

“You will be able to get another one in what we call the instant swap or replacement of the damaged device for another Galaxy Note to the same condition that you have given in right there and then,” he said.

Very important to note is also that the Note 3 comes with a Smart Health application pre- installed.  The application is pre installed in all new Samsung devices and will be available later to all the other devices. The intent for this application is to give users of the Note 3 medical advice. According to  George Ferreira, Vice President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Africa, the Smart Health Application is a sign that Samsung is not only concerned for its everyday users health conditions but also the company is dedicated to  becoming a global healthcare leader.

“Samsung aims to become a global healthcare leader by bringing together its expertise in electronics and IT technologies for an improved and more complete healthcare experience. Today, we continue our momentum as we launch our Smart Health App – an evolution in mobile health,” he said.

The Smart Health Application, is endorsed by the United Nation’s Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculoses (TB) and Malaria.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with a wider (5.7inch) full HD Super AMOLED display, yet slimmer (8.3mm) and lighter (168g) hardware design, and more powerful and longer lasting (3,200mAh) battery.

It is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with smart stabilization and high CRI LED flash that enable users to crisply capture every visual story in their lives, even in low light and active situations. It has the latest LTE technologies – CAT4 Carrier Aggregation and supports the greatest number of multiple frequencies.
